Planning the Future...Preserving the Past

Equal Opportunity Advisory Committee

The function of the Equal Opportunity Advisory Committee is to promote equal economic opportunities in the township.

The Committee will work to promote community-wide, harmonious relations among all people and groups throughout Galloway without regard to color, race, religion, gender, national origin, ethnic background or physical or mental disability. This shall be implemented in a spirit of good will, tolerance and acceptance of diversity within the community.

When it deems it appropriate, the Advisory Committee may offer its services as an informal conflict resolution agency when and if problems arise within the community for which conciliation or mediation may be useful, either upon referral from any local government or other community agency within the township, or upon its own initiative.

The Advisory Committee shall also address equal employment and economic opportunity matters relating to the township government, with the objective of assuring nondiscriminatory practices and of encouraging diversity and minority participation in township employment and award of township government contracts pursuant to the applicable statutes, but without specific quotas or set-asides.
