An initiative of the Task Force for a Sustainable Galloway
A TASK FORCE FOR A SUSTAINABLE GALLOWAY is a Mayor-appointed committee that is made up of Township employees, Township business representatives, Township residents and members of the Richard Stockton College community. Our mission is to reduce the carbon footprint of Galloway through the promotion of energy efficiency and conservation, environmental education and the implementation of sustainable practices.
To meet the challenge set forth in the Mayor’s Climate Protection Agreement of reducing our greenhouse gas emissions by seven percent below 1990 levels by 2012.
To carry out the suggestions of the Greenhouse Gas Inventory that was done through Richard Stockton College.
To pursue initiatives that will encourage residents and businesses within the Township to take steps toward energy efficiency and conservation and to develop sustainable practices in their homes and places of businesses.
To develop a Climate Action Plan for Galloway Township.
To attain and maintain Sustainable Jersey certification.
