The Zoning Board, established under authority of New Jersey's Municipal Land Use Law, consists of seven regular members and two alternate members appointed by Township Council.  All are residents of Galloway Township.  Regular members serve a four-year term, while alternate members serve two-year terms.

Conflict Engineer

Meetings are regularly scheduled for the second Thursdays of each month.  Meetings are held in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building. Special meetings may be scheduled when needed.  All public notices of meetings are posted in the Municipal Building and published annually in the Mainland Journal and the Atlantic City Press.

The Zoning Board has exclusive jurisdiction in the following areas:

  • All applications seeking a use not permitted in a zone
  • Requests for interpretation of the Zoning Ordinance, Zoning Map, general questions or concerning the zone of a property or permitted use contact Jody Loen, Land Use Administrator (609) 652-3700 ext 277.
  • Certification of a prior non-conforming use
  • Appeals from orders of administrative officers in connection with the Zoning Ordinance.

The Zoning Board also hears the following applications:

  • Bulk variances, site plan approval and subdivisions, if associated with a use variance
  • Residential bulk variances
